Al Hirt (1963) Honey In The Horn

Honey (lp) d

RCA Victor, LSP-2733

USA, 1963

When I began to learn to play trumpet so many years ago, Al Hirt was the artist that my Dad would have me listen to. I never really found Dixieland that appealing, but Al Hirt was a technically competent horn player. I still remember the first double and triple tonguing that I heard; Al Hirt. I was impressed.

But, yet, I still prefer Herb Alpert.
