CTI Records CTI Records - 1971 - logo

A jazz music label started in 1967 by Creed Taylor (CTI > Creed Taylor Inc.) under A&M Records. Between 1970 and 1977 operated as an independent label with most distribution by Motown. With a bankruptcy in 1978, the label was reorganized with distribution by Columbia Records until 1981.

I always found the artwork on these releases very sharp, representative of the 70’s, with many covers during the late 1960’s having the strong white border. Samuel Antupit (as Sam Antupit) is credited with this Album Design. During the eraly 1970’s Album Design was credited to Bob Ciano.
