“South Of The Border”, Brazilia 70 And The Chico Lopez All-Stars (1970)

South Of The Border (lp) d

“Tijuana” styled music from the 1960’s and 1970’s is a style I enjoy hearing because it reminds me of what was played in our house as I was growing up in SoCal.

Absolutely devoid of any useful credits to source who was Chico Lopez and who were the All-Stars. Let’s not mention Brazilia 70. This release is none-the-less fun, with a very competent studio crew performing. It rocks.

The track played in the video below, Trouble Spot (track A4), has a very awesome fuzz guitar.

However, I am really trying to fit the release into a “style”. Easy Listening and Latin Jazz fit. But Jazz-Rock could apply easily to Trouble Spot.

(The cover artwork is also very cool.)
